Guildhall Quarter

Ensuring Canterbury continues to be a fantastic place to visit, work and live is at the heart of the Guildhall Quarter proposal.

The decision by Debenhams to vacate its stores in the heart of Canterbury provides the opportunity to bring forward exciting plans to repurpose the space for today’s retailers and ensure it delivers the maximum benefit to the city’s economy.

The Guildhall Quarter proposal – now unanimously approved by Canterbury City Council – includes plans to develop 12 new retail spaces, strengthen the commercial appeal of key streets in the city centre, and provide city living in the form of 74 apartments on three sites.
